Utah-Arizona Motorcycle Trip - May 2022

utah motorcycle trip

This is the route of my Utah-Arizona Trip taken during the month of May 2022. Although I have visited many of these places several times before, I explored some new areas, especially the area of Kanab where a lot of western movies were filmed in the 1950's and 1960's. I visited the movie set of Gunsmoke, although almost completely in ruins, it was still cool for me to walk the ground where Marshall Matt Dillon and Miss Kiddie walked. As a kid I would watch this TV series, never missing an episode.

Leaving my home in Salt Lake City, Utah I headed south on I-15 Interstate to Zions National Park. Then headed southeast to Kanab, Utah, an area where hundreds of western movies and TV Series were filmed. Then south to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Then northeast to Page, Arizona and Lake Powell. Then heading east then north to Moab, Utah along the "Forest Gump" Hwy. From there I headed back west through Capital Reef National Park and the scenic Hwy 12. Then on to Bryce Canyon. Then back to Salt Lake City, Utah.

I pulled my popup tent trailer, manufactured by TimeOut Trailers, and brought a long my bicycle to exercise my legs in the evenings. With this trailer, I have all the comforts of home. It folds out into a sizeable living space with a queen size bed, eating area and a dressing area. It has a window port for a small window air conditioner.
