Kanab is a place where a lot of Western Movies and TV Series were filmed. They have a town museum called "Little Hollywood Land". They have a lot of interested facts and stories about the movies filmed in the area. One story tells of Frank Sinatra who paid for a swimming pool to be built at a local motel in town. He also paid for new football uniforms for the local Kanab High School Football team.
So first thing this morning, I attended Church in Kanab Utah. A prominent rancher in the Kanab area spoke of how the gospel relates to his cows and alfalfa. It was interesting to see how close this rancher is to his God and his Savior.
After Church I headed to the Little Hollywood Museum in town. They have several movie sets that they have preserved from the early western movies filmed in Kanab. Then I headed over to the Gunsmoke TV series town which was located up Johnson Canyon, just about 15 minutes outside of town. It was sad to see how it is almost gone due to neglect. After that I set my GPS for Jacobs Lake Campground, just 42 miles from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This evening I plan on heading there to watch the lunar eclipse over the Grand Canyon. This will be a once in a lifetime event for me to see.
I have met a lot of good people today. It is refreshing to know that there are still good friendly people in the world today. Check my post for tomorrow for my pics of the lunar eclipse over the Grand Canyon. Pray for no clouds.
